About the Role

PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support LAUSD’s Facilities Services Division.

This role provides high-level oversight of multiple construction projects, ensuring successful delivery through effective management of scope, schedule, budget, and quality. The Senior Project Manager plays a key leadership role in resolving project issues, managing project teams, and supporting district-wide construction program goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex construction project issues, disputes, and disagreements.

  • Develop, assign, and monitor performance of OARs on assigned projects.

  • Review project progress against construction schedules.

  • Evaluate and assess change orders and their impact on project cost and schedule.

  • Assist with bid and contract planning activities.

  • Assess bid specifications for feasibility and alignment with District requirements.

  • Monitor project performance metrics including schedule and cost control.

  • Review and verify contractor payment applications.

  • Provide oversight of schedules, cost control, contract administration, and quality control.

  • Monitor administration of contracts for architects and consultants.

  • Coordinate with District departments including Environmental Health & Safety, Design, Asset Management, Maintenance & Operations, and Inspection teams.

  • Support resolution of construction-related disputes.

  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures to improve program performance.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Education

Candidates may meet the education requirement through one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
    OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field with ability to obtain CCM within one year
    OR

  • More than 20 years of construction/project management experience with CCM required within one year
    OR

  • Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential

Experience

  • Minimum 17 years of professional project/construction management experience

  • At least 5 years managing large programs with projects exceeding $50 million

  • At least 5 years of experience in educational facilities, public works, or large commercial construction


Preferred Qualifications

  • Design-Build experience

  • Experience with BIM

  • LEED or CHPS project experience

  • Familiarity with DSA processes

  • Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer

  • CCM certification


Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities

  • Expertise in cost control, scheduling, and contract administration

  • Strong dispute resolution and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills


Work Conditions & Requirements

  • Onsite position at active school construction sites

  • May require extended hours based on project needs
