About the Role

PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services is seeking a Junior M&O Project Manager – FETU to support school facility maintenance, renovation, and environmental remediation projects.

This role assists in planning, coordinating, and expediting projects involving construction, modernization, installation, and repair of school and administrative facilities. The position works closely with district project managers, maintenance teams, environmental consultants, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately, and on schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and processing facility construction and repair projects.

  • Act as liaison between Project Management Units, Maintenance & Operations teams, and environmental consultants.

  • Review Requests for Assistance (RFAs) and determine scope of work with technical staff.

  • Review project drawings and support project planning activities.

  • Coordinate funding reviews and prepare funding request packages.

  • Track project progress and report labor charges and status updates.

  • Review cost proposals and verify accuracy and reasonableness.

  • Support cost estimating for asbestos and lead abatement activities.

  • Coordinate and execute abatement and remediation contracts and task orders.

  • Schedule and coordinate abatement work prior to demolition and renovation.

  • Review contractor submittals, daily logs, and certified payroll for invoice approval.

  • Review change orders and determine validity and scope impact.

  • Support project closeout and certification documentation.

  • Prepare bid requests and assist with procurement and award process.

  • Maintain project tracking logs and status reports.

  • Attend job start meetings and document safety and compliance requirements.


Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Studies, or related field

  • Relevant experience may substitute for degree on a year-for-year basis

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of project or construction management experience

  • Experience supporting public agency or educational facility projects preferred

  • Familiarity with construction lifecycle including planning, monitoring, and closeout

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance practices preferred


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with asset and work management systems (Maximo preferred)

  • Understanding of environmental remediation processes including asbestos and lead abatement

  • Ability to review drawings, scopes, and cost proposals

  • Strong coordination and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


Work Conditions & Requirements

  • Onsite position at active school facilities

  • May require coordination with ongoing campus operations

  • Occasional extended hours depending on project schedules
