About the Role
PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services is seeking qualified Field Supervisors – HVAC to support the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Maintenance and Operations Facilities Conditions Assessment (FCA) Program. The Field Supervisor will play a key role in identifying, documenting, and evaluating the condition of HVAC systems across district facilities. This role combines technical expertise in building systems with field leadership and data-driven assessment.
Key Responsibilities

Identify and document building component data related to HVAC and mechanical systems at LAUSD facilities.

Use digital tools such as tablets, laptops, and smartphones to collect and enter data efficiently.

Apply construction experience to locate and assess systems hidden behind ceilings, walls, and floors.

Evaluate the condition and remaining service life of HVAC system components, applying LAUSD-specific RSL (Remaining Service Life) criteria.

Work collaboratively with other field surveyors and trades to gather quantities, measurements, and reference information.

Support and conduct additional surveys of school district buildings as needed.

Supervise or guide survey team members and provide technical expertise when required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management from an accredited institution.

Candidates without a degree must have at least 10 years of relevant experience; up to 4 years of experience may be substituted for each year of education.
Experience
-
Minimum 6 years of full-time professional experience in construction management, facilities assessment, or HVAC systems evaluation.

Experience working directly with on-site construction teams, building engineers, and school administrators preferred.
Skills & Knowledge

Strong understanding of building systems, with a focus on HVAC equipment, components, and life-cycle performance.

Proficiency with field data collection tools and software.

Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and mechanical layouts.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lead or coordinate field survey teams effectively.
Salary & Benefits
-
Salary Range: $100,000 – $107,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday; occasional weekend work may be required.
