About the Role
PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services is seeking a Construction Manager IV to support the Terminal 7 & Terminal 8 Refresh Project at Los Angeles International Airport. The Construction Manager serves as the primary liaison for pre-construction and construction activities and leads safety, security, and quality performance for the program.
The project includes interior renovations, aircraft apron pavement rehabilitation, concessions enabling work, and related improvements to enhance resiliency, sustainability, and overall passenger experience.
This role manages scope, cost, schedule, and operational interfaces while ensuring construction meets quality standards and LAWA requirements within an active airport environment.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor all on-site construction activities associated with the project scope.

Coordinate pre-construction and construction activities between contractor and stakeholders.

Ensure construction follows approved work plans and Area Shutdown Requests (ASRs).

Maintain thorough knowledge of contract requirements, plans, specifications, approved changes, submittals, and RFIs.

Work with contractor and stakeholders to develop construction phasing plans, milestones, and priorities.

Monitor budgets, staffing requirements, manpower, materials, and equipment to maintain schedule and cost objectives.

Identify potential issues and implement preventative or corrective actions to protect project milestones.

Enforce safe construction practices and quality control standards.

Prepare periodic progress reports for management and stakeholders.

Participate in coordination meetings with contractors, trade partners, and LAWA operations teams.

Review contractor potential change order claims and negotiate resolution.

Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and project labor agreement requirements.

Support testing, commissioning, turnover planning, and operational coordination activities.

Perform additional duties as required to support project objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or related technical field required.

Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
-
Minimum 15 years of construction management experience, preferably on airport projects.
-
Experience managing projects exceeding $100 million in value.
-
Experience in active operating environments.
-
Experience with delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, and Design-Build.

Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.

Skills & Knowledge

Strong knowledge of construction contracting practices and methodologies.

Understanding of full project lifecycle from pre-construction through close-out.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to coordinate stakeholders and resolve project issues collaboratively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.

Familiarity with PMWeb or similar project management information systems.
Work Conditions & Requirements

Not a remote position; onsite work at LAX required.
-
Full-time Monday–Friday schedule.
-
May require work beyond regular hours or weekend shifts as needed.

LAWA provides desktop computer; consultant must provide company laptop capable of VPN access.

Consultant-provided cell phone required.

Transportation to and from LAX worksite is employee responsibility.
