Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Duration: Full-Time/40 Hours a week

Salary Range: $91,229/Year to $110,000/Year

Location: 17777 Center Court Drive N, Suite# 600, Cerritos, CA 90703

Essential Job Duties:

  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
  • Develop, monitor, and update integrated project plans and schedules to execute the projects in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geological data.
  • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
  • Prepare baseline schedules and schedule documents for approval by project teams.
  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing alternative methods for corrective action plans.
  • Work cross-functionally with different departments to gather information required for the project schedules.
  • Prepare or present public reports on topics such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, or property and right-of-way descriptions.
  • Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies for civil engineering projects.
  • Prepare and provide scheduled progress reports on a weekly and monthly basis and as required.
  • Maintain a record of scope changes, trends, and variances that potentially affect the schedule performance.
  • Review schedules with project team members monthly to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated into the schedule.
  • Facilitate project scheduling meetings and Interactive planning meetings as required.
  • Actively communicate with the Project Manager about the project's schedule deviations against the plan, risk to project deliverables, and provide advice concerning schedule corrections; and develop and record the project's historical schedule information and lessons learned upon completion of each project.
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the assigned engineering projects and compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Communicate with clients regularly to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Execute quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report the progress of the project regularly.
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team.
  • Cooperate, Communicate, and provide assistance and technical support to the project manager and other project members.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist the Project manager in establishing project objectives, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards.
  • Prepare scheduled or necessary updates of construction activities and determine personnel and equipment requirements.
  • Create and administer testing protocols for monitoring project performance.
  • Work under a licensed Engineer Inform supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes, and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
  • Supervise project databases including budgets and scheduling and report regularly to the project manager on progress as well as on problems that could significantly affect cost or schedule.
  • Manage compliance with standards and specifications for quality control and assurance.
  • Job Requirements:

  • Required Masters or foreign equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Architecture, or any related field. Must be able to travel to unanticipated client sites throughout the U.S.
